Retirement week #2

Hello again! In week two I've really been starting to show my sweet and fun personality. My foster parents are just eating it up. I can be a goof ball at times, but I'm mostly a laid back boy who loves to seek out your love! There were two new people over for dinner this week, and I greeted them with big tail wags. They were so amazed at how calm and lovey I was for the rest of the night. It was nice meeting them and all, but meeting my forever family would be even better! I hope to be home for good very soon. That's all for now! Here are a couple of pictures from this week:

Retirement week #1

Monte here! What an exciting first week of retirement it has been. I discovered how comfy dog beds are. I've been sleeping on one for the last several nights in the bedroom with my whole foster family. I stay in the crate while my foster parents are at work during the day, and I do very well in there. When they come home, my foster brother and I wag our tails and are so excited to see them. I've had no accidents in the house--I know to do my business outside. I'm a great eater and I've even been called a garbage belly a few times because I love food so much!

This weekend was especially fun. There was more snow so we went on some fun walks all together. Then today we all went to a meet and greet event with other dogs from Greyt Expectations! I got to hang out with a bunch of retired hounds just like me. I loved getting pet by all of the people there, especially Sky's mom :)

Here are some pictures of my adventures during week one!

Hanging out at the meet and greet---do you like my vest?

Resting in the car on the way home. We wear our muzzles during car rides because that's what we're used to doing.

Hi there! I'm Monte and I'm brand new to retirement. Saturday and Sunday were big days for me. I got on a hauler with some other hounds in Florida and we got let off in Virginia where we met some nice folks. They took us the rest of the way to Maryland. I got cleaned up and fit with a cozy winter coat and headed home with my foster mom. Speaking of my foster mom---she keeps telling me that I'm "such a love." That's probably because I just love getting pet. I'd lean into your legs for petting or rest my head in your lap for hours if you'd let me.

So many new things have been happening over the last few days, and I'm just taking it all in stride. I'm pretty good at walking on a leash already, and my foster brother Duck and I love walking side by side around the neighborhood. I also love toys and have taken up a small collection of them in my crate.

It's almost time to get bundled up for our afternoon walk. The weather is the only thing I miss about Florida, but I can't wait to cozy up to my forever family here in the mid-atlantic. Contact Greyt Expectations if you'd like to meet me at the next adoption event!
